I freeze at the sound no, no, no.. don’t defend me.. I think and the Luna snarls and turn her head, not letting me go, but gripping tighter around my arm. I don’t look up. I dont dear. “Watch it, Alpha Greyson! You will not tell me how to handle the mutts in MY territory” Luna Emberly looks like she’s could kill him with her looks. The man has his extremely large hand over hers and hold her still. He forcefully grab the key from her and unlock the cell. “Jesus, little one.. what the hell have they done to you?” He doesn’t wait for an answer. He gently offers his hand, but I’m terrified. I coward into a corner and watch as his expression becomes a mix of fury and compassion. “I’m not going to hurt you.. I promise.. take my hand and no one will ever hurt you again..” I finally look up at him. He’s.. huge. His shoulders are broad and muscular, his jaw is squared perfectly, like a sculpture. He has some facial hair that makes my knees go weak.. and his eyes.. holy his eyes.. they are piercing blue. I breathe out and slowly lift my hand and place it in his. He immediately pull me into his embrace and shield me. “I’m taking you out of here.. you’re never coming back, little one” he lift me up and carry me like a doll, but I’m too weak to protest. I lay my head on his shoulder and pass out..

When I lift her, I truly feel how skinny she is. She’s dirty, her hair is matted and her skin is so white I can see through it. My jaw tightens as I carry her to my car. I mind link my beta to take the other car back, and I place her in the front seat, securing her belt and closing the door. I curse under my breath as I walk over to my own side. I start the engine and drive away from the Blue Moon pack and start driving her home.

It’s a long drive, and I keep my hands wrapped so tight on the steering wheel that my knuckles turn white. I listen to her breathing, and I sigh in relief when she finally comes around. “Welcome back little one..” I hear her stomach growling loud and grit my teeth. “When was the last time you ate?” I rummage through the mid console and find a sandwich i put there right before I came here and hand it to her. “Thank you..” I freeze. Her voice is so timid. She looks so frail. I tell her about me as I drive. The pack, where she will live and that she’s safe, and when we arrive at the pack house, I park in the garage and carry her out. “First, you will eat.. properly.. than you’re taking a shower and then we can talk again if you’re up for it” I kiss her temple and force myself not to wrap my arms around her and keep her plastered to me like a second skin. I find some leftovers from the fridge and heat them up. I hand her the plate and a fork, and I watch her eat like she hasn’t eaten in weeks.. and she probably hasn’t..

I throw back the food. It tastes soo good. I can finish half the plate before I’m full. I look at him. He’s even more handsome in bright light. “Why do you keep calling me little one?” I ask, genuinely curious. I don’t mind it tho. He smiles “because I don’t know your name, and you’re so small.. how old are you, anyway?” He asks. I smile. “Well.. my name is Lilly Harrison and I’m sixteen” I say. I notice him flinch. “Harrison..? Y..you were Jason’s kid..” he says. Not a question.. a fact. I nod “yes.. you knew my parents?” I curse in my head. Of course he knew them.. he’s an Alpha.. “yes, little one.. I did..” genuine sorrow flash in his eyes for a moment. He shake his head “follow me. You need a shower” he smile and offer me his hand. I take it and follow him into a large bedroom. Masculine and smelling like expensive cologne. He lead me through another door and my eyes widen. The bathroom is.. huge. Large, grey tiles cover the walls and floors, there is a double sink with black cabinets and brass finishes, a huge free standing tub and a shower that can easily fit ten people. “Wow..” he smile and grab some towels for me. “Take your time. When you’re done, I’ll find you some clothes, and we can talk about sleeping arrangements. If you’re comfortable sleeping next to me, or if you want your own room.. but Lilly..?” He waits for me to look at him before he continues ..”you’re always safe with me.. and I will always protect you” he give me another kiss on the temple and walk out, leaving me alone with my own thoughts, and I finally feel.. free.
