After eating breakfast at the Pine Tree Pack, Maddie personally escorted me back to the Eagle Moon Pack. Of course, we didn’t go alone.
Two of the Pine Tree Pack warriors were assigned to each of us to ensure our safety, in case we ran into Jack or any other trouble. Luckily, that didn’t happen on the way.
Maddie stayed with me even after we crossed the border, and I was thankful to have her presence. It was nice to know I had back-up, but I couldn’t fathom the thought of being alone with any man except Zane. In fact, it was a terrifying thought after the way I had been treated by both Jack and Xavier.
