Before starting the chapter, I need to describe some customs, traditions, and several important things that are part of a Sri Lankan wedding.
When the bride plans to dress as a Kandian bride, both groom and bride have to stay away from having any meat items for their meals. They will also be blessed by “Pirith chanting” to avoid evil things that could happen to both bride and groom.
Auspicious times are there for several things, such as there is an auspicious time to keep the “nalal pati” (which will be described later) by the bride’s mom to the bride. And there is an auspicious time to step foot out from the bride’s home, and for “Poruwa Ceremony” (I’ll describe later) and finally to leave the premises.
