Hearing what Emily had to say definitely eased my worries for the moment. However, when we returned to the dining hall, Tamara looked to be completely lost in thought. As soon as I sat down beside her, I leaned closer to peck a kiss on her cheek, and that's when I smelled that Alpha's scent on her.
I was instantly enraged by that, but I knew if I flew off the handle, that would just push Tamara away from me. Instead, I took a deep breath to calm myself, then I silently ate the remaining food that was still on my plate.
When I was done eating, I stood up and mumbled, "Come on."
Tamara immediately stood up, then she followed me all the way back to my bedroom. I didn't say a word to her the whole way there, and she also kept her mouth shut.
