He pulled me close. Right there in the middle of the grocery store. Kissed my forehead. "I'm being ridiculous."
"A little. But it's kind of sweet."
"I don't do jealous well."
"Noted. I'll try not to get hit on by handsome chefs."
"He wasn't that handsome."
"He was pretty handsome."
"Ava."
I grinned. "But not as handsome as you."
He rolled his eyes. But smiled. "You're terrible."
"You like me anyway."
"Unfortunately."
We finished shopping. Found Grace and Lily in the toy aisle. Lily had convinced Grace to buy three new coloring books and a stuffed reindeer.
"She negotiated," Grace said. "I didn't stand a chance."
"She gets that from Sarah," Ethan said softly.
Grace smiled. Sad but genuine. "Yeah. She does."
