Chapter Fifty Three Winter of Content
The days ran into weeks and weeks ran into months for Kyla and Kermit as they remained in the sleepy Danish town of Kerteminde, the winter snow lay all around, thick and crisp, the fiord frozen, the ice so thick some of the locals would drive across it in the 4 x 4 vehicles, although Kyla would not fancy trying that out for herself.
Each morning Kyla would walk to the bakery picking up fresh bread, life had become less traumatic, as they settled into their new normal. Kermit kept checking in with his brothers twice a week, and everyone was safe. The killing of the contestants had stopped, and the British media found a new story to fill their morning papers. From the outside it looked like the danger had passed, but Kermit knew otherwise.
