“You know what I suddenly miss?” she said as her lips began curving into a small smile. Kai raised a brow. “What?” “Those meat buns from the little shop we passed by last time. You remember?” His eyes lit up at the request. “The one near the park? Yeah. You loved those.” “Mm,” she nodded. “Maybe you can bring me some tomorrow? Fresh, still warm… it would make my day.” Kai’s mouth tugged into a grin. “Consider it done.” She leaned back against the pillows, her voice softening. “Then you should go home now, get some rest. I don’t want you looking like a zombie when you bring them.” He gave a low chuckle. “I don’t mind staying—” But she reached out and ruffled his hair in a light, almost teasing gesture. “Go,” she said warmly. “You’ve done enough for me today.” That simple touch left
