Chapter 55: Of Hues and Men Dear brother, It’s been a few months since I last wrote. Remember, I told you I was terrible at keeping up friendships. Summer is here again. The heat. The tourists. The festivals. We’ve had a full dining room at Split for three weeks straight. It’s been a little hectic, but Nick has kept his promise. We open four days a week and have scaled down the menu. No more catering gigs either, and because my health is improving, I get to help out in the kitchen on some nights. It’s quite a thrill to be in a chef’s jacket and to work side by side with Nick. It’s a dance we know well and I’m happy to say I do make a better sous-chef than Olivier. I still suffer from occasional migraines and my brains aren’t tip-top, but I’m learning to accept this new man I am, tho
