At first, a wave of panic hit me, sharp and overwhelming. But it only lasted a few seconds before my confidence took over completely. There was no way this ridiculous inspection could expose my secret!
I had already silenced every greedy doctor in this hospital with piles of cash and expensive jewelry. They were on my side, bound by the deals we'd made. As long as I stood here, they'd play along, crafting the perfect report to "prove" my organs were rapidly failing.
