Darkness consumes the room after the portal seals itself. Sounds of cars honking and people bustling down the streets are heard in the background- something I’ve never paid much attention to, but now seems louder and definitely more annoying. I let out a breath, wondering what exactly I planned on doing with my life now that I’m back in the human realm. Did I really make the right choice?
