I woke the next morning, feeling defeated and weak. We all sat in the kitchenette, taking small bites of food with no one saying a word. I assum they were all in on the announcement of his engagement, as no one else seemed shocked like I was, and I didn’t know how to process that. They all have known each other for hundreds of years, and loyal to Connor to a fault. But even though it’s only been a few weeks, I know deep inside of me we’ve developed some sort of kinship. It could be the wolf thing, or the fact that we were forced to hang together so much, but their sympathy for my situation flows off of each them, and it gives me some reprieve.
