Chapter Twelve

1503 Words
I ran back to my room I was in desperate need to get away from these people from the madness this whole experience is turning into. I came here to study about my abilities. I didn't expect it to turn out into whatever this is turning out to be. I jogged up the few stairs and turned left towards our room. Opening the door I find Hanna going through a few costumes. She turned to look at me a smile spreading across her face immediately, "There you are, come over here and see some of the things I bought for us, where have you been anyway I thought I'd find you here like we had agreed." I straight way throw myself at her and hugged her. She seemed like a breath of fresh air something I desperately needed. "I'll go take a shower." I said pulling away from her and heading towards the bathroom. I turned the shower on high letting the hot water spill roughly onto me. I wanted to just wash away the days events but most of all I kind of hoped I could wash away the blood I drank. At some point I heard Amanda walk in and ask for me. I stayed in there for a while, rubbing my skin and trying to avoid her. "Scar come out of there already. You've been in there for almost half an hour we are going to be late." I sighed but didn't answer. "Scarlett Rosaline Johanna Brown get out of that shower right now!" I definitely couldn't ignore her this time. I walked out of the shower with my hair and body wrapped in towels. I walked past Amanda completely ignoring her and slumped down on my bed not feeling the party vibe anymore. "I don't feel like going anymore" I say to Hanna. I looked at her and only then do I realise that she has already dressed up. She wore a short tight fitting nursing outfit with her make up immaculately done to match it. She had put fake blood on the sides of her mouth and some dripped on her uniform she also wore black studded heels that seemed way to high for comfort. She was a killer looking nurse, pun intended. "What, no you can't do that to him, the guy is due to be here in about thirty minutes, you can't just drop out on him at the last minute." She brought my outfit, "and see I've already dressed up" she twirled. "So you better get dressed." She pushed a bunch of clothes in my arms and sent be back into the bathroom. I saw that she had chosen a biker girl outfit for me. I dressed up and left the bathroom. She did my make up saying I am a zombie biker who just got risen from the dead. So she painted my face with all her shadows mixing green blacks and greys. It came out looking great I liked it despite my initial protest. I looked for my boots as soon as she was done with my make up I knew they would go perfectly with the outfit. I found them but didn't put them on. I turned to look at them, Amanda hadn’t changed into an actual outfit she was chose to wear her usual skinnies, top, leather jacket and paired with her combat boots. I knew that she was still going to attend the party because she needed to be beside me. "well finish up we need to go" Hanna urged on "I'll attend only on the condition that you both will help me with something. You will have to help me with a conjuring spell." They were shocked for a while. Amanda raised an eyebrow at me. "Amanda I need to know. I have a lot of questions and I need answers." She shook her head in disapproval standing straight from her leaning position. "That is crazy you have never done one before it can become very dangerous, this is total insanity. What if things go totally wrong? What would we do then?" We heard a car hooting and I knew that was Jacob. "He is here" Hanna went to look out the windows and in the distance by the parking lot she confirmed it "Right on time". I decided to take their silence as an affirmation. I tugged on my boots and we headed downstairs. We weren't the only ones leaving for tonight I saw some other students get into their cars and others car pool. This long weekend was certainly something most looked forward to. And since it's a long weekend just for these few days we received our cell phones and were allowed access to our cars, well their were seeing that I didn't own a car. We got into Jacob's car and he drove us off to the human side of town. It's not like the humans of Jeswing didn't know about our existence we were more in numbers compared to them but they still had their own section of the Isla where they lived a some what normal life. After about fifteen minutes we arrived at the house. Standing up from the drivers seat I could see Jacob's outfit he had dressed as Calvin Harris. He really pulled the look he got the approval of many ladies walking by and our very own Hanna. We walked to his side of the car so he can lead us in. "Wow ladies, ladies you look fantastic! So I have a sexy looking nurse" he twirled Hanna and whistled. "a biker chick" I gave him a fist bump, "and..." He didn't seem to know what to make of Amanda's outfit because Amanda wore what Amanda usually wears. "And Amanda just Amanda" she said making him laugh. We walked up to the house the music getting louder and louder. I felt like I was going deaf, already wanting to leave. I was not a fan of being around so many people and a part of me was scared that I might start craving for their blood. But walking amongst them seeing them move their sweating bodies to the beat of the music I didn't feel anything. Jacob took us past what seemed to have become the dance floor to a section of the house that had a few tables and thankfully away from the large dancing crowd. There were a few people hanging in this area but only a few dancing bodies. "Are you okay?" Amanda asked me. I was really beginning to hate that question. I took Jacob by the hand and lead him back to the flood of bodies that were dancing. We danced for a long while Jacob twirling me now and again just for the fun of it, we kept dancing until my feet decided no more. I got close enough to whisper to him that I was going back to the table. "You are a really good dancer." He said to me whilst walking back together. "What can I get you ladies to drink." Amanda's phone rang interrupting him. She pointed to towards the sliding doors that looked like they lead outside. "Okay so that leaves the two of you. What can I get you lovely ladies to drink. We do have non alcoholic beverages too so if you not the drinking type we got you covered." Jacob said sweetly. "I'll have a coke please" I said. "I want to see my options so I'll come with you Are you okay with being alone Scar? I won't be long. " Hanna asked "I'm okay you go ahead." they both left towards another section perhaps the kitchen. The house was big. It was not really decorated except for a few fairly lights and pumpkin heads put in a few corners. I guess he knew nobody would really care they mostly came for the booze and the dancing. There was a long hallway towards my right and again curiosity got the better of me. I wandered down the hall looking through frames of what seemed to be the host's family members when something caught my eye. I turned and saw nothing, I saw stairs going up and I went for them. I followed what I thought I saw up the stairs but there was nothing. Again I saw something move and I followed it. I knew it was a bad idea but I was a really curious half witch who liked figuring things out. I kept walking until I realised I didn't know how I got to where I was. I heard something behind me and for a second I really hoped that I'd be one of those girls in the books and movies that would bump into the guy they liked but I guess my life never works out in my favour no not like that. So instead of a certain hot blue eyed guy with jet black hair, I got a ghost.
