Chapter Two

I looked on anxiously at the big gates in front of Jeswing Boarding High. "So I guess this is goodbye my dear Letty. I'll phone you every time I get a chance and after the semester you can come home to visit me." Grams stepped out to hug me. "But Grams can't you change your mind. What if I don't fit in and I'm an outcast in this place. What then? I don't belong here Grandmother I want to go back home with you." I said fighting back tears. That's one thing I hate doing, crying. Crying makes me weak and I'm anything but weak. "Come on now Letty you will be fine. Just keep one thing in mind; never let yourself down never let your anger get the best of you. You are one of a kind Scarlett always listen to the voice inside of you. Now," she handed over the last of my bags and kissed my cheeks, "Do not be rude or troublesome or get into any kind of trouble. You better behave Scarlett Rosaline Johanna Brown." She laughed out as she went back into the car. "Ha Ha Ha Grams very funny. I'll see you around and no midnight snacks it's bad for you." I scolded then blew her a kiss, I'd definitely miss her but I guess she was right I needed to find out who I really was what I'm fully capable and if this is the way then so be it. I turned towards the large black gates. Slowly they opened and I got a full view of Jeswing. I walked a bit further inside and the first thing I noticed was what seemed to be the main building. It was a castle like building with high walls and large windows, I could see thick red curtains pulled to the sides through the windows. It looked majestic with its walls that looked like they never end and a green and white flag at the highest tip. On the further sides of the building were smaller buildings I guessed to be the dorm rooms. There were large grounds for sports and on my right I could see a garden which I could only guess it's beauty because I couldn't see much of it. Everything looked extravagant and way too elegant for a small towner like me but this was too be my home for the next two years. I was so absorbed in my adoration of the place that I didn't notice the tall figure standing next to me. He cleared his throat to get my attention then gave me a small smile, "Good morning, may I take your bags miss" he reached his hand out but I pulled my luggage closer to me. "Take my bags to where?" he tried to hide his smile. I was not going to just trust him I just met him. "To your room Ms Scarlett" it's only after he mentioned it that I noticed his neat uniform and bow tie so he must work here. Still not feeling quite trust worthy I decided to just give him my luggage to take but kept my bagpack with me, I could always get new clothes if he was a thief. He turned to walk but quickly looked back like he wanted to say something, "and Miss it would be best if you stay clear from the road." he pointed towards the car approaching from behind me. I quickly ran to the side where some of the students were. I saw a lot of the students walk to towards the main building and thought to follow them inside since I didn't know where to start first. If I thought the outside was impressive it holds nothing to what the inside looked like. I was greeted by the site of a long red carpeted hallway with large picture frames of different men and women, red carpeted staircases with gold railings some leading up and others leading down. I watched the many students come out from different sides and I didn't know who to follow. I walked ahead slowly looking at each picture one could tell that they were important people by their stance and that strict look in their eyes. I took another turn away from the now crowded hallway and saw more pictures of headmasters and such. At the corner almost hidden behind a curtain was a picture that caught my attention. A woman with long dark hair and shining red eyes stood near a desk smiling. There was an air of familiarity about her. Her eyes, different because of the red colour, looked warm and welcoming. Her smile made me want to keep looking her. She was stunning to say the least. "That's lady Rosaline"
