Chapter Twenty Nine
Damon POV
Two days pass after the rogue attack, and Amira remains uncharacteristically quiet. She goes about her daily tasks and routines in a fog, barely saying more than a few words to anyone. I’d give anything to know what’s going on in in that precious head of hers.
After a several week long break, all of us return to school—Erebus and Christian included, who’ve transferred to the high school on Blood Warrior pack territory to be closer to our Amira. Today’s the first day of being back, and Amira hasn’t said much. None of us have any classes together, but we saw each other at lunch, where she spent the time sulking with her chin propped on her hand. The only time she smiled was when her best friend, Samantha, ambushed her, but I could tell that it was forced.
