I’m foggy throughout the morning, trudging through what feels like a tar-filled atmosphere. It’s a pretty common side effect after sleeping for a long time, so it doesn’t pose too great a concern.
The concern begins when, while my coven is seated at the breakfast table, Morgana announces, “I’ve been feeling some serious magical sh*t go on in the forest the last few days. According to our witches, nobody’s done any spells that could cause it, and the herbs that grow in the forest are normal, so they couldn’t be giving it off. Sav, you know anything about it?”
I pause with my mug of coffee halfway to my lips. “I’m going to need two more cups of coffee before I’m functional enough to tell.”
