Simone’s anxiety made it hard for her to enjoy the massage, even though she could hear Colette sigh and hum contently every minute or so. The massage was no doubt delightful, but her thoughts, which seemed to spiral out of control, didn’t allow her to feel peaceful. Indeed, the mere thought that she might be pregnant ruined her mood.
