Carolyn's impulsive response took me by surprise. But… I guess I shouldn't be. She was Carolyn, after all. My lips parted as I glanced at her, who raised one of her slender brows. She shrugged her shoulders when everyone started to stare at her.
"I thought we were pointing out the obvious."
I pressed my lips together to suppress the smile that was curling on my lips, and glimpsed at Travis.
"Yes, she is pregnant. So what? No law says that women can't get married while pregnant."
Adam's lips scrunched up at the solemnity of Travis' response.
The Elder swallowed hard and gave Carolyn a foul look, but she didn't seem to notice or care that he was probably mentally cursing her. The wedding ceremony continued.
