I really thought Joel would do something to have us k*ll him or force me to send him away, because by k*lling him, I would be breaking his parents hearts and I love his parents, but 2 weeks after I released him, we were under attack and he got all of the kids to safety and Zeus was not home and Gustavo was in the office, so when 6 wolves attacked me and tried to k*ll me, he jumped in and helped me k*ll them all. By the time Gustavo came out, we had the attack handled. That day Valen returned and was so angry. This is how he found out about Joel being back in the pack and living a normal life.
