I hated him not because he was a kind of business rival. I hated him because he was clingy to Charlette. From the first day of school, I wanted to sit with Charlette in our classes, but he always made her sit with him.
I knew that I might be delusional, but he was like a love rival to me when it came to Charlette.
“She went to meet Mr. Hoffman. What happened?” Mona told him but asked with concern in the end.
“Her phone is switched off.” He mumbled and then walked away in long strides.
