I was taken off guard, but I wasn’t afraid. I was amazed.
“Listen to me, kid, and listen to me very carefully.” His cold breath fanned my earlobe, indicating how close he was standing to me right now, but still far enough away to not let me feel his presence.
“I don’t care if you are a Hawk or Holt or whatever your family’s name. Keep in line around Charlette or I promise you that you are no psycho in comparison to me.” His threat was clear.
His possessiveness and madness were clear in his voice. For a second, my heart trembled.
It wasn’t a threat. It was a promise.
“She treats you like a friend and trusts you. Make her feel regret of her decision, and you will take the last breath.” I just blinked and he disappeared.
