“This assignment is quite risky, Rachel. Char will be out of the city tomorrow, and after what happened last time, I don’t think that you should MIA in this situation,” Alfred, my tracker, said to me worriedly after we finished discussing our plan for the next assignment.
I rubbed my temple to ease the headache that I had been enduring since last night.
“I know, Alfred, but you also know how difficult and crucial this assignment is. We are talking about the lives of so many children, Alfred. Charlette will be fine. I know, she will be fine on her own.” I replied to him with a sigh, trying to assure him, but I also had doubts in my heart.
