A month passed before Michael’s next accidental rendezvous with Ezra; a tedious month of resolving domestic disputes, locating missing pets, solving petty crimes, and many other aspects of small-town detective work that made Michael long for his job back in London. On the bright side, Cunliffe seemed to allocate all of Ezra’s cases to Michael and, although the werewolf would never admit to it, he was starting to look forward to Ezra’s work and the challenges it brought. The vampire was intelligent and witty and that showed in how he arranged his clues. Michael had a fairly impressive collection of sticky notes now – one for nearly every case. There were more stories circulating the newspapers about the vigilante, unfortunately. They still didn’t know what Ezra looked like, but that didn
