Princess Croasia returned to her quarters, seething with anger. Her plan to win the Emperor's heart had failed, and her pride could not bear the rejection. In a rage, she threw everything she could find, not caring who she hit in the process. Two of her attendants became unfortunate victims of her fury. One of them was struck so forcefully on the head that it began to bleed. The other attendants rushed to assist the wounded while one gently held the injured servant's forehead to stem the bleeding.
