I watched as Hector slowly fell into a deep sleep, after the doctor gave him sedatives.
His eyes held so much pain and different emotions I’ve never seen on him before. It’s like every emotion he was trying to hide from me came to surface, as soon as he saw his dad a few feet away from me.
I was dumbfounded by what he said and I could feel my pulse throbbing. I tried to appear calm in front of him, trying extra hard not to show him how damn scared and angry I was all at the same time.
I finally had the strength to walk out of the room, still dazed and confused. I needed someone to explain what was going on.
But who would tell me the truth?
Hector said, I shouldn’t trust Santiago. I don’t know why, but as soon as the strangled words left his mouth, chills ran down my spine.
