Chapter 41 ~ Hailey ~ After what felt like an eternity of knocking and getting no response, I gave up. Not on confronting him, I wasn't leaving this building without answers but on standing outside his door like some desperate supplicant begging for an audience. If he wanted to play the coward, fine. I could wait. I walked over to what appeared to be Derek's desk, positioned strategically outside the CEO's office like a gatekeeper and sat down in his chair. The leather was expensive, comfortable. I crossed my legs and folded my arms, my eyes never leaving that closed door. Derek was still hovering nearby, looking increasingly anxious. "You are a mad woman Hailey. A mad woman." "I'm waiting," I said calmly. "I'm not leaving, I'm not causing a scene, I'm just sitting here. Waiting.
