Day 2 of resumption and I'd braced myself for the worst.
I'd spent all of yesterday evening and this morning mentally preparing. Building up my defenses. Telling myself that whatever Navine threw at me today, I could handle it.
Maybe he'd demote me again. Maybe there was something worse than data entry—janitor, perhaps. Or mailroom clerk. Or he'd just fire me outright and be done with it.
