"Well, well, well, look who is back from her holiday vacation," Dante said with a very sinister grin, appearing at my desk again like a bad penny that kept turning up.
He had really made my life a living hell working at Keystone Group. From my very first week, he'd targeted me. Set me up in so many ways, made me take the blame for things that weren't my fault. A missing report that he'd hidden. Data errors that he'd deliberately introduced into my work. That presentation that somehow got corrupted right before I was supposed to deliver it — I'd never been able to prove it, but I knew it was him.
Why did he hate me so much? I'd never understood it. Never done anything to him except exist in the same department, do good work, and refuse his advances.
