When Nathaniel left, Derek turned to me with an expression that was equal parts bewildered and exhausted. He leaned back in his expensive leather chair, running a hand through his already disheveled hair.
"There's a whole lot of drama going on," he said, his voice carrying that tone of someone who'd witnessed far too much chaos before nine in the morning. "I mean, seriously. This is more action than we've seen on this floor in months."
