I stood in my bedroom, feeling suddenly awkward and out of place in my own apartment.
Nathaniel was out there. In my living room. Cleaning up. Being thoughtful and kind while I hid in here like a coward.
A wave of dizziness washed over me, and I had to steady myself against the dresser.
The headache. Right. That's what this was. Just the concussion. The head injury. Nothing to worry about beyond what the doctor had already warned me about.
I fumbled for my medication on the nightstand, the painkillers and antibiotics the hospital had prescribed — and swallowed them dry. Then grabbed my towel and headed for the bathroom again, a little more water to improve my temperature.
