I was still half-asleep, reaching across the bed for the warm body that had been there all night, when my hand met only cold sheets.
My eyes snapped open.
Navine was gone.
The disappointment hit me immediately… a sharp, unexpected pang in my chest. I'd wanted to wake up with him. To see his face in the morning light. To maybe... do it again, if I was being honest with myself.
God, what was wrong with me? The man had kept me up half the night and I was already craving more.
