“Thank you so much for watching her for us, Helene; you've been a big help to us.” Helene’s smile was warm as she handed Tyla back to me.
“It’s no trouble at all, Logan. She’s such a joy to have around.” As I looked down at Tyla, her bright eyes and infectious giggles made me forget the stress of the past few days. I gently bounced her in my arms, making her squeal with delight.
“You’ve been so patient, little one. We’ve missed you,” I said softly. Even if it was only for a couple of hours, Julia and I couldn't wait to get her back.
“So, you're leaving today?” Julia asked Helene, who nodded her head.
“Yeah, I still have to pack. But I'll be back tomorrow. Is it okay if Julia and I go into the town for some shopping?” Helene asked, even though she was being careful.
