“I wish you two would stay for another week,” mom sighed.
“I wish you two would stay forever,” Paisley whined.
“We have to get back,” I replied with a sad smile. “I have work and Maia has dance practice,”
Almost a week had passed after the New Year and it was time for Maia and I to go back to the city. We were standing in the living room with our bags packed and ready to go, but my family was still trying to persuade us to stay.
As weird as this may sound, Maia and I had a great time in Little Falls. There wasn’t much to do around here, but I realized with Maia, it was never about where you are but who you’re with.
