“She’s lying about what?” I said, somewhat defensively. I had already doubted her once, and it had cost me 200 years with her. I wasn’t about to make the same mistake twice.
“She’s been holding back,” Helios said, his eye twinkling, and motioned to the open door. I looked in to see Kassie focused on her prey. I don’t think she’s realized no one’s helping her anymore. She’s fighting 5 people on her own. She is efficient and precise and Helios was right, she’d been holding back. Dario was purring in the back of my head as we watched her dodge a swing by bending backwards, her hands touching the floor, using the momentum to kick the man in the jaw with her foot, turn mid air and hitting another with her other foot as she righted herself and headbutt the man behind her.
