Some days were better than others for Gemma as she set herself upon her new apartment with her two children. Photographs of her children growing up on their way to adolescence was enough to make her proud-but not any more than it had for her son. He now laid within the hospital, charred by the blast of the car mixing with the flames and combusting, but remained alive and upon life support. There wasn’t a day that went by where Gemma wasn’t by his side-so much so that her other children began to feel the brunt of neglect that she unintentionally cast in their direction.  Since he had been immobile upon the bed, she would read to him, sing to him, and even cry to him-begging him to wake up and speaking to him with how proud she had been.
