The following week, the town mayor and his vice paid us a visit. We received a call about it two days prior but I couldn't get over it until it was over. I wore a white formal above-the-knee dress and curled my hair tips. I did my own light make-up like how I did it back in school or if I had to attend an urgent formal meeting with my parents. It wasn't an elegant look which was not needed, honestly. But I grew up looking presentable to important meetings.
Aside from the lady mayor and vice mayor, seven other people came with their company. Three ladies and four gentlemen. Razbill had prepared lunch for them at the cottage. Nana was present to check on the food. I could see her excitement for me.
