Leah was making her way to the hospital with Joel and Paxton in tow. She was worried about Sly and what the effects of two broken mate bonds could potentially do to him.
“Beta, is Sly going to be alright?” Joel asked. He, too, was worried because he and Sly had become like brothers during their years of protecting Leah together.
“I don’t know, to be honest, Joel,” Leah replied. She sighed heavily. “One broken bond hurts enough to kill someone. I can’t even begin to imagine what two broken bonds would feel like.”
“I don’t get how he can be so unlucky in the mate department,” Paxton mumbled as he followed with his head down. “He’s such a loving guy and has such a big heart.”
