No matter how hard I try, I can’t shake the sting of how Selene treats me now..like I’m a stranger. We used to be inseparable, best friends who could always count on each other.
She was the only person, besides Maximus, who really understood me. The one I could trust with anything, especially when my world felt like it was crumbling.
But everything changed after Maximus divorced her. That moment shattered everything. I was so angry with him that I lost it, saying things over the phone I probably shouldn’t have.
