Chapter 7

Brendan's POV I am glad she did not accept the rejection and move on. She is the prime example on looks doesn't matter. I went for the looks and here we are. Adi Lorraine is doing his best to convince his sister that it's okay for her to participate in this meeting with a Rogue King. What I don't understand is, why are we entertaining the Rogues? They have no business with regular werewolves. That too with the Royal family? "But why?" I asked them and they all looked at me with confusion written across their faces. "What why?" It was Raul who asked me the question this time. Just in time when I was thinking he might have lost his voice. "Why is the future Queen of werewolves meeting the King of Rogues? Rogues weren't our friends or allies in any way," I shrugged my shoulders as I looked at everyone in the room. Yasmyn's eyes landed on me and I wish I could read what they say. Sadly, I cannot. I made a blunder and I wish.. I wish I could tell her just how much I regret it already. It's burning a hole deep in my chest. "This has nothing to do with you. You should be feeling lucky we are letting you have dinner with us. Now get up, get to your room and keep your nose out of Royal business. The last time I checked, you weren't a Royal" Selena said with her eyebrow raised at me. If at all she rejects her mate, then I would say that man dodged a bullet. She is so full of herself and wouldn't even let others speak. Doesn't matter if the other person is her own family or friend. I raised my arms as in surrender and stood up, ready to leave to my room. I was already done with the dinner anyway. "Wait," I heard her voice and it made me stop dead in my tracks. I turned to look at her. She walked towards me, careful with her steps. The last time I remember she did not walk like this. I stared at her legs. It's the heels. They are making her uncomfortable. Then why is she wearing them.? "There is something I need to talk to you," she said and I nodded at her. "In private. Let us not ruin a family dinner more than what it already is," Yasmyn muttered under her breath and walked first. I looked at everyone at the dining table, including Adi Lorraine who was glaring at me. "Hurt my sister and you won't see a day, Brendan. I am serious," Adi muttered in a low voice and I nodded once that almost looked like a bow too. Maybe I did bow. Whatever. I followed Yasmyn's scent and it led me outside. The moon is shining bright and everyone in the pack is asleep. It feels like it's just us. And I like it. "I love it!!!" My wolf Bryce screamed in the back of my head. I smiled at her, ready to listen to what she wanted to talk about. But she surprised me. It wasn't her mouth that talked. It was her hand. And I swear on Moon Goddess I heard my lower jaw made a cracking sound. Wow.
