Rejecting The Future Queen

Chapter 24

Yasmyn's POV

"You sure do have some balls to come back," Raul commented and I jabbed him in his ribs with my elbow.

Brendan noticed the exchange but acted like he didn't. Somehow, his expression and posture changed. He doesn't seem like the original Brendan Rivera.

"What made you change your mind?" I asked him and he simply shrugged at me.

"I am here because I thought of everything with a calm mind. I cannot let anger make decisions on my behalf," he said and that makes sense but still, something is still off.

"Well, how about you show Your Queen that you can be trusted?" Raul asked Brendan again.

And now I don't like Raul. I know he is being all protective big brother like person right now but now is not the time.

"I guess Adi needs you more than me, Raul. I can handle this," I said but Raul shook his head with his eyes on Brendan.

"Come kneel before your Queen and kiss her feet," Raul said.

Now he is going too far.

"Raul," I growled low and he growled back at me.

But I currently hold more power than him so he backed off and stood up eventually. Great.

"I am leaving," Raul said with a tinge of embarrassment.

I tilted my head towards the main door and Raul was about to walk out, but Brendan stopped him from doing so. Brendan stood before Raul and Raul growled low again.

What is wrong with the men today?!

"I shall show The Future Queen that she can trust me," Brendan said and I opened my mouth to say something.

But I couldn't. My wolf took partial control and somehow, she did not let me open my mouth. I should learn some control and not let my wolf decide what I do and what I don't.

Brendan then walked towards me, kneeled just a foot away to where I am sitting. I wanted to ask him to stop and act normally but my tongue is tied and it's only starting to irritate me more.

Raul's eyes were like a hawk as he looked at Brendan.

Brendan then bent down further holding my feet with his hands. My right foot is in his left hand now and he gently pressed a kiss on my foot.

Waves of sparks shot up my skin, making me feel dizzy but I regained my posture when he knelt straight. He finally looked at me and told me something that made me freeze.

"Meet Silas tonight at the clearing"
