I sit up on the bed when I hear Demitri enter the room. I look down at my hands as he makes his way over to the bedside and I feel his weight shift the mattress down. I sigh as I continue to look at my hands and then something weird happens. He surprises me very quickly with what happens next. “Darling, will you look at me?” His words are so gentle and I can’t help but snap my head up to look into his ruby red eyes. He gives me a small smile and quickly brushes my hair out of my face and tucks it behind my hair. “Darling, I am so sorry about what just happened.”
