When Anya finally woke up, we decided to smuggle her out of the castle and take her down to the stores in the heart of the city. Before we could leave, we had to disguise her the best we could, so we threw a hooded cape over her head and the two of us dressed in the clothes of the time period that the rest of the city seemed to be trapped in. I was very lucky that Alexis had guessed my size correctly or else, this would have been a really bad situation.
Once we were all dressed, Demitri took the lead and guided us out of the bedroom and down the hallway to the front door where a horse drawn carriage was waiting for us. Anya kept having a conversation with Demitri in Russian that I didn’t quite understand, but I just rolled with it since I was sure it was nothing too out of the ordinary.
