Lia In the morning, all of us headed back to the parking lot. Xaveria was with us, keeping to herself, her fingers twitching at her sides like she was trying to stop herself from saying something. Every step we took, she glanced over her shoulder like she expected a monster to jump out and yell, “Boo.” I was about to ask her what was wrong when she suddenly froze in place. “It’s waking up.” I blinked. “What?” Xaveria’s gaze was fixed on something distant, her expression tight with unease. “It’s waking up,” she repeated, voice lower this time. Colby groaned. “That doesn’t exactly explain what the hell you’re talking about. What is ‘it’? The last time someone said ‘it’s waking up,’ I ended up watching a horror movie and not sleeping for three days.” Xaveria sighed. “An elder dragon.”
