The night is chilly. The water looks black and scary. Doesn't matter though, because my intrusive thoughts always win. I stick my right foot in. The water is nice and warm. I want to swim, but it's so dark out here, and I don't have a light or feel like that is a wise decision. So any other thoughts I might have stop here. I fear going in means I won't be coming back out. I shiver, not from the cold, but because this is how a scary movie starts.
I decided to come sit by the lake. I needed alone time, and I love it here. It's peaceful, but right now, it's too dark, and honestly, quite scary out here all by myself with no weapons.
