After a busy day out we were back in the house zonked and full. Everyone went direct to their rooms apart from Jake who was left outside chairing a staff meeting. I was in the room quietly arranging the laundry listening to music on my headphones at a low volume. A soft knock on the door halted me.
"Yes, come in!" I shouted from the dressing room and went on with my activities.
"Lisa?"
That was definitely Maddie's voice. And it came as a surprise. She was the last person I expected to come looking for me, there was nothing cosy between us. Even during the family day out she didn't take a single photo with me. Apart from group photos. And to me it was totally okay.
"Yeah" It just slipped out. I had no idea what to say really.
"Can we talk?"
"Yeah, sure welcome" I showed her
