I wake in a field of wildflowers. Immediately, I’m on my feet, realizing where I am. “Ada,” I call out, searching all around.
“Hey,” she says shyly. She’s wearing a yellow sundress that flows to the ground, thin straps on her slim shoulders. She has some kind of lace wrap thing around her arms and across her back. It looks just like the dress I found in her room. It IS the dress.
“You’re so beautiful,” I tell her, unable to look away.
Her smile falls. “I don’t look like this anymore, though,” she says. “I… I don’t even know what I look like. Not really.”
I don’t care what she looks like. I walk to her and extend my hands. She takes them, smiling up at me. “You’re the Alpha.”
