“Goddess, I missed you,” I say, pulling Audrey’s top off.
“I left Calvin with Katya to look at the apartment,” she says. “We don’t have much time.”
I walk her down the hall to our own home and close the door. My hands are on the waist of her skirt when she places hers over mine. “Slow down.”
“Which is it?” I ask, pulling back to look at her. “Hurry up or slow down?”
She crosses her arms against her chest. “I’ve got to explain this again?”
I take a slow breath and lean forward, kissing her forehead. It’s been so long that I should know what to do, but I can admit to myself that I’m terrible at this.
