“You really found her!” a large man says as he approaches. I’m shocked as he hugs me and lifts me from my feet.
“Rob!” Molly exclaims.
He places me back on the ground, and Calvin quickly steps in front of me. “Don’t,” he warns him.
“She’s pregnant,” he laughs, clapping Calvin on the back. I realize then that he doesn’t know about what happened to me. He thinks my mate is just worried about the baby. “She won’t break.”
Calvin shakes his head, taking my hand in his. “Don’t touch her.”
“We’re family,” Rob tells him, clearly bothered by Calvin’s behavior. Family.
Calvin sighs. “We’re not.”
“The hell we aren’t,” he tells him. “I’m my sister’s brother, and you’re my sister’s brother, so we’re family, too.”
I giggle because his words would make sense if you didn’t know
