My mind is spinning. Lily was always terrible. Wolves didn’t attack her family like she’d said. Well, not in the way she said. It was another King, out of control and doing whatever the hell he wanted to. I’ve read Queen Cora’s journal and know how horrible he was, but I didn’t realize he banished witches.
“Where are the books now?”
“Still there,” she says. “Her spell has fallen, but I could never bring myself to go back. There are so many painful memories there.”
I sigh. “Gus knew there was a cabin full of books?”
