When I left the Shadow Crawlers packhouse, I didn't know what to think. I should have gone alone to that god-forsaken meeting. I didn't, however. I reasoned that going with my beta and gamma would be preferable. I knew they were mocking me even though they didn't say anything. They could communicate through their mindlink, as far as I knew.

As soon as I got close enough, I growled and kicked the tyre of my vehicle. I couldn't believe she had the audacity to embarrass me in front of all the alphas like that. What would they say about me? They would probably despise me even more than they did in the past.
