“Keya?”
I nodded.
The sound of my name on his lips cracked something inside me. But before I could breathe, before hope could take shape, the light in his eyes dimmed again — the spell snapping back into place like a shackle around his soul.
He blinked.
"She is the enemy. She is here to take everything from you," Athena said, her nostrils flaring.
"Attack her," Queen Elizabeth ordered. "Or you will lose everything, Rhys."
“Rhys, no. Don't listen to them. Look at me,” I whispered as his mother thrust a sword into his hand. Everywhere around us, my family was fighting. I thought I could stop him, stop this, but now...
The confusion in his eyes didn't placate me. I was worried.
"No," the Queen breathed. "She is the enemy, my darling boy."
